Venice 2014
Venice, 2014. Then I was six months pregnant, and we drove around 8 countries by car. I put off these photos for a long time, it was difficult to take them, but now I want to share.
Venice is teeming with people. Beautiful buildings require restoration. The water smells strange. Many gondolas, trade on bridges…
You will say that this is not so. I understand, a matter of perception… But there was no romantic mood at all. I didn’t even want to buy a mask.
But it was great to walk along the small streets and look for San Marco for 6 hours, guided by the arrows. The most delightful thing is that you can easily imagine yourself in the 16th century. Especially if you suddenly find yourself in deserted places. All books and films are immediately remembered…
We saw so many beautiful and unique things! The city is filled with creativity and the best craftsmen. Small shops with wooden things, all kinds of masks, many exhibitions of contemporary art… Incredible buildings. We even visited the local university. Also, it was interesting to visit the mainland, there was a large-scale fair that morning.
This is panorama about cornfields and mountains, on the road from Austria to Italy
We traveled only in the north of Italy and spent 100 euros (and this is before the crisis). And how sad to make a mistake, go the wrong way, turn around and pay again… But driving along such a beautiful highway is a pleasure!
We spent a lot of time wandering the bright streets.
The culture of Italy is beautiful, it is easy to imagine yourself as a noblewoman of the 16th century. Especially if you slip into a house without tourists. If you walk, fingering the ancient textured wall with your fingers…
Of course, masks are the most popular in Venice. But we didn’t buy mask, we prefer to admire them. Although, you can find anything, even in the steam-punk style:
In Venice, you will find many paintings, this one was on the ceiling of the university
Venice is a major center of the contemporary art, don’t bother to find it, it will find you by itself. And we were still BEFORE the big hands appeared
We didn’t go gondolas
Bright old man with a violin
Some water for dogs
The most beautiful place in Venice, view of the Grand Canal
Piazza San Marco
Church of Il Redentore
Be sure to come, Venice has a lot to see!
